Servas International is a non-profit organisation operated by volunteers, hosts and travellers, in over one hundred countries in all continents. Servas was conceived in 1948 in Denmark as a linkage at grass-roots level of people who had in common a desire for world peace, built on better understanding and tolerance between people.

Servas hosts and travellers are committed to the belief that people can be bound in the spirit of love and reverence for life, to social responsibility, and to the recognition of human rights everywhere.

My personal aim is the same as Servas International "to help build world peace, goodwill and understanding ....." by being in personal contacts with people of other countries and to share their culture, interest, activities and ways of life. I supported Servas International for over twenty years. When travelled I always received a heart warming, joyful and valuable hospitality, that often become lasting friendship. As a Serves host in Australia I was fully and happily sharing my home, interest and my life values with hundred of travellers who visited me, especially over the last seven years.
